SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – MEDICAL DEVICES

Are you a Design Engineer with substantial experience and knowledge of Orthopaedic products?

We have a senior design engineering role for you working in the R&D team of this growing company. 

You will oversee the design and development of the Company’s joint devices these will include implants as well as instrumentation.

You will manage projects and supervise development engineers, support Regulatory Approval processes to secure product registration in key markets.

Your remit will also include making sure that the design processes are conducted correctly and correct design and risk mitigation steps are implemented.

Your ability to design using both 2D and 3D programmes will be utilised and you will liaise with manufacturing and production engineering to ensure the smooth introduction of new devices.

Another important aspect of your role will be interacting with Surgeons and Inventor design teams to design new products.

Clearly you will have an aptitude for detailed design and engineering analysis.

You will possess good project management skills and be detail oriented.

Have the ability to lead large teams and coordinate cross functional work.

You will have a penchant for generating top level technical reports and be comfortable delivering technical presentations.

Requirements

We are looking for a BEng or BSc in a relevant subject such as mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or product design and ideally significant experience of orthopaedic design – a higher degree would be advantageous.

It is essential really that you have worked in a medical devices environment and that you have a good understanding of the regulatory submissions required to secure product registration in both the EU and USA.
